“The constitutional amendment to dedicate a portion of the revenue derived from state sales and use taxes to the Texas water fund and to provide for the allocation and use of that revenue.”
Some Texas communities have less water than others. Proposition 4 ensures a more reliable water supply, so Texans can thrive in the communities they call home.
Right now, Texas’ aging water systems are losing 186 billion gallons of water every year. That’s enough to supply millions of households. Proposition 4 will provide the funding to repair and replace old pipes, ensuring our water goes where it’s needed most.
Our economy, communities, and future depend on water. Texas' population is projected to grow 70% in the next 50 years, but our current water supply won't be enough to support that growth. Proposition 4 dedicates resources to increase our state’s water supply without any new Taxes.
On November 4th, Texans have a chance to secure our water future. A YES vote on Proposition 4 means reliable water for families, stronger communities, and a Texas that’s built to last.
